What We Believe
1. We believe the Bible to be the inspired and only infallible, authoritative Word of God. (2 Tim 3:16-17; 2 Pet 1:20-21)
2. We believe in the triune Godhead as One and as eternally existent in three Persons; Father, Son and Holy Ghost. (Deut 6:4; 2 Cor 13:14)
3. We believe in the deity of Jesus Christ, in His virgin birth, in His sinless life, in His vicarious death and atonement through His shed blood, in His bodily resurrection, in His ascension to the right hand if the father, and in His present priestly ministry. (See entire Bible!)
4. We believe in divine healing, obtained and appropriated based on the Atonement and God's Sovereignty. (Ex 15-26; Rom 9:15-16; 1 Pet 2:24)
5. We believe in the resurrection of all some to eternal life and some to eternal punishment; all standing before the Judgement seat of Christ. (Jn 5:28-29; 2 Cor 5:10; Rev 20:15)
6. We believe in salvation for the lost (sinful mankind) by regeneration of the Holy Spirit at the moment of conversion (repentance, forgiveness of sin and faith in the finished work of Jesus Christ) We further believe in the keeping power of God. (Lk 24:46-7; Acts 2:38, 13:38-9, 20:21; Heb 9:22; Jude 24)
7. We believe that holiness through the ongoing work of the Holy Spirit in the sanctification of the believer and the overcoming life is God's design for His church. The Holy Spirit (1Cor 6:11, 2 Thess 2:13 and 1 Pet 1:2) accomplishes this through the Blood of Christ (Eph 1:7, Heb 9:14, Heb 13:12 and 1 Jn 1:7), Word of God (Eph 5:26), the Name of Jesus (Acts 10:43), Prayer (1 Jn 1:9), Faith (Acts 26:18) and Trials and Tribulations (1Pet 1: 6-7). Also Eph 5:25-7; 1 Pet 1:15-16)
8. We believe that water baptism is for believers in the Lord Jesus Christ and is to be administered by immersion, thus bearing witness to the Gospel and Christ's death, burial and resurrection for us; and our new way of life in Him (Matt 28:19; Rom 6)
9. We believe in the baptism of the Holy Spirit on the Day of Pentecost (Acts 2), repeatedly experienced in the life of the believers; in the continuing ministry of the Holy Spirit as evidenced in the spiritual gifts and ministries as well as in the fruit of the Holy Spirit in the life of the believers. (Acts 1:8, 2:4, 4:31; Eph 4:11; 1 Cor 12:8-11, 28; Rom 12: 5-8; Gal 5:22-23)
10. We believe that Communion, when shared by believers, witness to the saving power of Jesus Christ and the Gospel, to Christ's Presence in His Church (the body of Christ); and, looks forward to His imminent and victorious return. (1 Cor 11:23-26)
11. We believe in Christ's imminent and personal return in power and great glory; and in His present and everlasting dominion over all things visible and invisible. (Acts 1:8; Rev 1:7; 1 Jn 3:2; Eph 1:18-23; Col 1:12-23, 2:9-15; Rev 19!)
12. We believe God's mission for the Church is to be a blessing to this world, individually and corporately; A Witness and testimony of Jesus Christ expressed through love, holiness, the Gospel, missionary fervour, evangelism and a pastoral care represented and expressed in the individual life of the believers, their home, the church and the community (in commerce and in civic government), as well as in the fellowship and discipleship of the saints. (Gen 12:2; Acts 1:8; rev 1:2; Jn 13:34-35; 1 Jn 1:1-3; Matt 10:24 et al). We believe His purpose for the church is to be conformed to the image of His Son, to rule and reign with Him eternally! (Rom 8:29, Rev 5:10 and 22:5)
